Munich
Trains, trams, subway, buses – every mode of transport here and we used them all. Beautiful weather, stunning parks, and a charming little Italian restaurant, Cupido with delicious homemade pasta just steps away from our hotel after a day of walking many miles. We explored the English Garden (larger than Central Park), Nymphenburg Palace and Residenz München. Our impressions of Munich were quite positive and yet, in some ways, surprising.
Toddler aged children seemed to be everywhere in parent pedaled bike basket strollers coursing through multiple tidy interconnected neighborhoods. We observed somewhat less diversity than we expected here (for Germany) with many more people smoking than we’ve seen in years, and an ever-present Goodyear blimp overhead! But how is it that we duck into such wonderful world locales often on a national holiday when most things are closed and you’re only here for 36 hours?
We had a very fun two days, thanks Munich!
