Palm Springs
After we left Joshua Tree we drove up to Big Bear Lake. On the way there we saw signs of autumn. Then dropped down in elevation and up (98 degrees!) in temperature for a few days in Palm Springs. Had a great time; stargazed from the top of the tram (8500 feet). Driving tour of some beautiful neighborhoods full of mid century architecture.. Went to a an amazing private garden of succulents run by the son (about 80 years old) of the couple who built the home and garden in the 1930s. We learned so much at the Agua Caliente Cultural Museum about how the local Indian tribe fought back to retain a place in the center of Palm Springs’ development against great odds.. A stunning piece of architecture full of interesting exhibits. Off to Mexico!
